North Kelvin Ruchill Park walk 27 January 2024

Trees around the flagpole in Ruchill Park in winter under a blue sky

Our next health walk will be to Ruchill Park

Meeting point

When: Saturday 27th January, 2pm

Where: Queen Margaret Bridge at the top of Queen Margaret Road (directly across from our noticeboard)

Route

We will go up Queen Margaret Dr and Bilsland Dr and enter Ruchill Park at the gate near Murano St. We will go to the top of the park – which has great views – and then, if people wish, to the viewpoint at the flagpole (is it just a pole if it doesn’t have a flag?). We will leave the park at Firhill Road and, at the football stadium, we will go on to the canal towpath and head west to the footbridge leading to the student village, opposite the fire station. We will descend to Maryhill Road, cross and return to the start via Kelvinside Ave and Queen Margaret Dr.

The walk is 2.3 miles (3.7 km) and will take around 1 hour.

This is a great chance to enjoy our local greenspace and meet people, old and new!

Remember…

★ Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather

★ Walkers needing 1:1 support should bring a buddy with them to help

★ Children must be accompanied by an adult

Everyone welcome!
