Route to Park Circus and back

Meeting point

Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.

About the walk

The route is slightly shorter than some of the recent ones at 4.37km or 2.71 miles, but we do have a hill to walk up! It should take just under an hour plus any stopping time.

Route in detail

Starting on Queen Margaret Road we will go down onto the river walkway. PLEASE NOTE: There are around 15 steps down to ramp with a few steps which takes us down to the walkway.

We will turn left, past the Flint Mill and hopefully via some street art (if it is still there!), along the walkway to Kelvinbridge and then under Gibson Street before climbing up the hill to the Lord Roberts statue at the top.

We will exit the park and walk along Park Gate to Park Terrace Lane where we will walk past some mews houses.

We will turn onto Park Street South, the Woodlands Terrace, Lyndoch Place, Woodlands Gate and left onto Woodlands Road. We will cross at the lights by Dram! to look at a piece of street art before walking up to Woodlands Drive, crossing Great Western Road at the lights.

We will walk up to Landsdowne Cresent, and then South Woodside Road, taking the small back lane to Garriochmill Lane, Striven Gardens, Doune Gardens, Doune Quadrant, Kelvinside Terrace South and back to Queen Margaret Road.

Access/safety

When we tested the walk it was icy, so please wear appropriate footwear. There are some cobbles and steps at the start.

There are some gradual climbs (mainly the hill in Kelvingrove Park). There are some surfaces which may be uneven or slippy underfoot and some overhanging trees. We have to cross some roads.
